Meditation for Couples
Ok, in a nutshell,
a few years ago a couple came to me & asked if they could have a private session together,
(which kind of didn't make it private anymore & seemingly difficult to do the individual 'exploratory'
guided meditations that can be so helpful)...but as I figured out how to do it,
I also couldn't help noticing how it actually had advantages.
Whether or not each person was working on the same thing, by hearing how the other might work
with what they have going on, -- each ends up being an extra support to the other
back at home during the process of trying this stuff out.
I think that the learning process is accelerated because it's going in through two perspectives,
not just one, that are sharing with & supporting each other.
Well, the word got out and I've been doing this kind of work for a while now
and just decided to add this page to describe & offer it more publicly.
I record each session onto a CD which I hand you when you walk out. I keep no copy of it
and everything is confidential. I separate the guided meditations onto different tracks
so that they can be listened to as guidance for meditation at home if desired.
Most often people are looking for ways to deal with stress, trauma, panic attacks, migraines,
spinning mind or continuous judgmental thinking, chronic or acute pain (and what that brings up in relationship),
&/or compulsive behaviors. I start people off with simple but effective meditations that are interesting & doable,
as well as an understanding of how this whole thing works, i.e. a context for the work.
Soon, I'm going to add a page with feedback & testimonials of couples who have taken advantage
of this 'shared private' session to work with issues or for the sharing of spiritual growth.
I also do shared privates with parents & children.
